Primitive camping at the Chester State Park last weekend with Troup 66 was amazing and growing. The troup was fantastic and I learned so much about Chester State Park. Our park now has paddle boards, disc golf, canoes, kayaks, and paddle boats. The bathrooms were clean and the sunsets were truly on fire.
There are so many resources around us and so many are completely underutilized. We each feel like we need our very own everything. But, then we miss out on community, and it's many benefits. Sharing resources like boats, trucks, and many different kinds of equipment can save us a ton of money and time. These are the same kinds of efficiencies Uber and Airbnb is finding among us.
I think I'm figuring out that community is far more important than I've been treating it. It's easy for me to enjoy being a hermit in my little neck of the woods, but participating in the messiness that is authentic community is beneficial in so many ways both seen and unseeable.
Now, I dreamily envision my summer mornings (before work), hot coffee, paddle boarding at that park. But, I lie to myself about mornings. I'm really bad at them. So...most likely it will be evenings. That's not so bad though if this happens:
