Toxins and Minimalism

Wow, the products that we use that can cause issues with our bodies and our planet are incredibly multifarious, and scary. Just as I begin to get good at reading food labels, another whole category of life must be edited. Last night as I sealed the grout, (yay! remodel headway!) this clear, seemingly harmless water-like product was getting all over me as I squirted it out of the bottle and into the fine lines, sometimes over my head. I finally read the label: WARNING REPRODUCTIVE HARM

Are you kidding me? I'm already 38 years old and haven't even gotten started yet with a family... reproductive harm is NOT what I need.

Later, as I took a surprisingly pleasant outdoor shower, I used my warming Biorre exfoliant. I'm suddenly worried I'm sending plastic or silicone microbeads into an already fragile woodland ecosystem surrounding my house... plagued with invasive Autumn Olives and other shrubs. Alas, good news, upon further research Biorre luckily uses biodegradable wax beads. (Also, it's the only one that seems to work for me.) Thank you x dos, Biorre!

So, I'm hanging with Biorre, but in a broad effort to simplify all my life and junk, I'm going to really look at ingredients and truly question the necessity of products. I'm going back to vinegar for cleaning where possible and basically coconut oil for everything else :).

Here's an update pic of bathroom:
